TGIF! :-)

Today, Biggens (the kitty mentioned in the blog yesterday with the puncture wound) went to the vet to get neutered.  We are thrilled that he is healthy enough for this!  That is a good thing!

FYI to anybody who is interested in volunteering at AniMeals, Fridays are definitely a good day for that!  Also, we are looking for volunteers for our change drive tables, too!  If you are available, please call Steph at 721.4710 for details on table locations and hours.

Additionally, tomorrow is the last day to adopt a black cat for $5.00! I dare you to come to the shelter and try NOT to fall in love with one of the feline tenants here!!!  We hope to see you tomorrow!! (our shelter hours are Tues – Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 11am-4pm..closed on Sundays Mondays)

Have a GRRRRRRRRRREAT night everybody! (yes! like Tony the Tiger!)  He is a cat too ya know! ;-)

FIVE DOLLAR BLACK CAT ADOPTION FEE!

Tomorrow and Saturday are the last days for our “High Five for Five Dollar Felines” promotion at AniMeals!!! All of our black cats have a $5.00 adoption fee!  Yes!  FIVE DOLLARS!!! Have you met Porter?  What about Henry?  Oprah?  Yes, come to AniMeals tomorrow and/or Saturday and fall in love!  Tell your friends!  Be sure to keep an eye on our website (www.animeals.com) to see which group of cats will be a part of our High Five for Five Dollar Felines promotion for the month of May! :-)

On a completely different note, this is the kitty who was brought in with the puncture wound the other day and was covered in blood and had an awful ear infection.  He looks so defeated.  All day yesterday this guy just slept.  He has been so malnourished for so long.  He is now slowly improving, as we have medicated him for the infection and he is gaining an appetite more and more each day.  He is also part of why our Special Needs Medical Fund is so important.  The expenses for caring for the ill and injured cats and kittens that come through the shelter is very high.  Help us help these helpless and homeless animals by donating today.  www.animeals.com

Thank you all for being so awesome.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated more than we can even express.  THANK YOU!

A Cat Tale…

Today, one of the AniMeals feline tenants was unhappy with being forced to wait a few extra minutes for his breakfast to be prepared, so he decided to rebel against our Warehouse Manager, Steph, by eating a post-it note.  Yes.  A post-it note.  He was very impatient! When Steph realized what was going on, she immediately took the post-it note from his mouth.  She didn’t want him to make himself sick by eating anything else just for spite, so she prepared his meal early.  Spoiled? Maybe ;-) .  Unfortunately, his spite snack caught up with him later on this afternoon, and came out in the form of brown goop.  It turns out he threw up a self-adhesive strip cover from an envelope that he had also managed to finagle during his early morning temper tantrum.  He did later end up regretting the incident, and apologized by being obedient and quiet for the remainder of the day.  Want to know who the troublemaker was this morning?  Find us on Facebook for the answer!  :-)   (www.facebook.com/animeals)

Thank you all for your continued support and for being so absolutely amazing!!!

We are still looking for foster parents!  Please please please contact Steph at 406.721.4710 or go to www.animeals.com/FOSTER.html for more information on fostering.

Have a great Wednesday!!!  “See” you tomorrow!

For Sale!

Good afternoon, AniMealers!

We are now selling 14# bags of Swheat Scoop litter for $15.00!  We also sell Natural Balance Cat Food (6# bags) for $15.00.  The miracle nutritional supplement Missing Link is also sold at the shelter for $12.49 for a three month supply!  If you adopt an AniMeals cat or kitten, be sure to get your litter, food and supplement all right here in one place!  We give our cats nothing but the best, and so should you!  :-)

Frankie was just put into foster care on Saturday!  He is doing well, and he will be there until he is ready for adoption!  Just a few more weeks!  Thank you all for your generous donations that have helped us help him!  We had another cat brought in today who was found bleeding profusely from a puncture wound on his side.  He was cleaned up, put on antibiotics and given pain meds.  He seems to be doing well.  We had no room for this poor kitty who was apparently beat up by other neighborhood stray cats.  So far so good.  We will update you with the progress tomorrow.

Thank you all for being so amazing, and thank you for your continued support.  You are all why we are able to be here!

See you tomorrow! (Seriously…come to the shelter! :-D )

Magnificent Monday

Don’t forget that AniMeals is closed on Sundays and Mondays! :-)

Have you seen the AniMeals truck lately?  We have a new look!  One side has cats on it for the Adoption Center, and the other side has a variety of animals on it for our food bank.  Check it out:

Be sure to honk when you see us tomorrow doing our recycling route pick-up!   You all have a good night, and we will update you on our kittens being fostered!  Thank you ALL for your phenomenal support!!!  “See” you tomorrow!

Thank you for caring about the animals!

Fantastic Friday!

Good afternoon AniMealers!

We are thrilled to announce that little Frankie the kitten (see yesterday’s blog) is doing much better!  Here is a picture of him from yesterday after he was brought into the shelter.  This poor baby boy was starving and so sick with upper respiratory infection that his eyes wouldn’t open at first.  Here is what he looked like yesterday: He is on the road to recovery, and as soon as he is well enough, he will be available to foster and then ready for adoption!  Please call Steph at AniMeals if you are interested in fostering…406.721.4710.  Here is a picture of Frankie today:

As you can see, this little man’s eye infection is almost completely gone already, and he is eating regularly.  He was even playing earlier…which is a great sign!  Thank you to all of you who support AniMeals, as it is because of you that we are able to continue helping this beautiful baby boy!  Watch Frankie’s progress through the AniMeals blogs!  What a fantastic start to the weekend, and Happy Easter to all of you!! We hope you have a great weekend and look forward to “chatting” with you on Monday!  Have a great evening!

Until next time… :-)

Thankfully Thursday!

Good afternoon AniMealers!!

A big thank you to our volunteers who are manning our change drive tables!! Tomorrow we will be set up at Ace Hardware – Tremper’s Plaza, Albertson’s at Tremper’s Plaza and Orange Street Food Farm!  Don’t forget to see AniMeals kitties at PetSmart, too!  YOU can help “Change an animal’s life” by donating your loose change at the above-listed locations tomorrow from 11am – 5pm!  Thank you for your continued support!!

UPDATE: We just took in a tiny 5-6 week-old kitten today that was found underneath a trailer in a trailer park.  This little one is a black and white beauty whose eyes were glued shut with infection. This is a perfect example of why our Special Needs Medical Fund is so important.  The PHENOMENAL AniMeals staff is doing everything they can to nurse this baby to good health.  Please be patient while the Special Needs Medical Fund page on our website is being updated.  This baby’s story, along with our other Special Needs’ patients’ stories, will be posted on our site with pictures soon.  Thank you all for everything you do that allows us to help these innocent animals. http://www.animeals.com/SPECIAL_NEEDS.html

You all have a fantastic Thursday, and don’t forget to recycle in AniMeals’ name at Pacific Recycling and Steel! :-)

Good night!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Good afternoon AniMealers!!!

We have had a very busy day here at AniMeals shelter with kitten season being in full force and with our latest feline addition.  This beautiful five year-old, Asia, is a grey and white Siamese cross who lost her forever home when her former owner passed away.  She is now residing at the shelter, and she will be available for adoption soon.  Asia is just another example of why we are here to make sure animals like her get another chance at a home and don’t go hungry.  Come to AniMeals and visit her today!  Also, don’t forget that for the remainder of the month, our black cat adoption fees are $5.00!  There are just 9 days left to get your black kitty from AniMeals with this very affordable fee!  All of our cats are dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  See the beauty of black for yourself and adopt your black cat or kitten from AniMeals!

Additionally, I would like to announce that AniMeals now has an account set up in KALISPELL at Pacific Steel and Recycling!  Just like in Missoula, you can take your recyclables to Pacific Steel and Recycling in Kalispell and donate by telling them to designate your refund to the AniMeals account.  Yes!  We are thrilled to have all of your support as we feed hungry animals while going green at the same time! THANK YOU!

Wednesday Morning…

Good morning AniMealers!  Kitten season is here!  Want to help save the lives of innocent kittens?  Be a foster parent!  Call Steph at AniMeals at 721.4710 or email her at warehouse@animeals.com.  We couldn’t do what we do without you!!!

Things at the warehouse are busy.  Our amazing volunteers help us keep this place running in tip top shape!  So, a HUGE thank you to all of you!  Thank you to our supporters in general for the kind words and donations.  You guys are awesome!  Our latest adoptions included:  Damien, Jezelle, Ebony, Lazarus, Jet, Jazzy, Harvard and Stevie.  HIP HIP HOORAY AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE NEW FOREVER FELINES AND THEIR NEW FAMILIES!!!!!!!!!!

HOORAY FOR MONDAY!

Good afternoon, AniMealers!

Recycle not only by adopting your next feline friend from AniMeals (all black cats and kittens have a $5.00 adoption fee fort the remainder of the month!) , but also by recycling your aluminum at Pacific Recycling and Steel!!! Mother Nature sure seems to be confused with which season it is these days…but regardless of the weather, it is mid-April!  That means there are only two weeks left to participate in the great promotion that Pacific Recycling and Steel does for AniMeals!  We hope you recycle for AniMeals through Pacific year-round, but April is the month where they step it up a notch and match the dollar amount (PLUS up to 10 extra cents per pound!) that is recycled in AniMeals’ name all month.  It is a great way to donate to AniMeals and go green for the environment!  Be sure to tell them you want your recyclables to go to AniMeals!!  Get your winter boots on (HOPEFULLY SPRING WILL BE HERE SOON! :-P ) and head to Pacific today!  Here are details:

Just a reminder, too, that AniMeals is closed on Sundays and Mondays.  The shelter/food bank hours are Tuesday through Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.  Thank you all for your support…thank you all for your generosity…and thank you for caring about the animals!!! Have a great night, and maybe I’ll see you at Pacific Recycling and Steel tonight!  :-)

“See” you tomorrow! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO FANTASTIC!!!!!!
