Shadow–Forever Loved and Remembered

shadowShadow was an AniMeals cat, and we knew that he would live his life out here because of his medical condition.  We were happy to have him here, and we knew he was happy to be here.
He ruled the kitchen, and was dubbed “The Official Food Tester” and “Kitchen Greeter”.  He oversaw all kitchen activities, including who was getting what food and who was getting what medicine.  He felt it was his jo…b to monitor every opened can of cat food, and he took his job very seriously.  He never let one can go by without his inspection.
Shadow had asthma that was getting harder to control.  He also had a condition called Stomatitis, which required the removal of all of his teeth.  We had taken him to the emergency room on several occasions, because of severe asthma attacks, and he was on a number of different medications just to keep him breathing.
After dealing with this condition for eleven years, his lungs finally gave out.  We couldn’t save him. It was a tough passing for all of us.
Shadow was with us for a long time, and we all loved him dearly. He was so much a part of our every day lives, that his passing has left a huge hole in the shelter.  It will take some time to get used to the fact that Shadow is no longer there to greet us or inspect the food.  He was old, loveable, demanding, polite, toothless, and always a gentleman.  We miss him immensely.”You’re nobody unless you’ve been gummed by Shadow”

  1. I lost my Serena yesterday, Shadow sounds a lot like Serena, down to the missing teeth. We adopted her 12 years ago. It was love at first site and that’s how she passed. We will get another cat but not another Serena 😥
