Daisy’s 5 Second Adoption

Love at first sight doesn’t happen very often, but it did a couple of weeks ago. A few minutes before the AniMeals office was set to close, a man walked in with a dirty little pooch under his arm who just had to find a new home. She had belonged to the man’s mother and after she passed away, Daisy was taken into his care. Although he wanted to keep her, he had a few dogs already and thought Daisy could find a better home elsewhere. So our office manager (and this blog writer) decided to take her home until she could find a permanent family.

I immediately gave her a bath, some fresh food and water, and a couple of toys to play with. Timid at first, she opened up quickly and decided that I was her “person” and her permanent home was MY home. She met my two blind and deaf dogs, Baron & Stoney, and immediately became best friends with them. She has not let me out of her sight since the minute she was brought in and really enjoys coming to work with me everyday. She is the best dog anyone can ask for and I’m honored to add a third (and final!) pooch to my pack.

Welcome home, Daisy! Stop by the AniMeals office Monday through Friday to visit her. She would love to say hi to you!

Jingles and Precious’ Happy Ending

We received a great email today from a new owner of two of our kittens!

Hi,
This is Tiffany, and my husband and I adopted 2 little kittens from you guys last Sunday from Petsmart to make our family grow from 2 dogs and 2 cats to 2 dogs and 4 cats!! I wanted to update you guys on these two’s new home and adventure. They both took to  our dogs right away. I’m thinking that was because we had the dogs with us that day as well so they met them early! the younger (7months) of our two cats took to them as well having some new play buddies really helps keep him active with lots of play time. Our older cat is still trying to get use to seeing little ones around. Not being the social one of the bunch hen sniffs then leaves or lays down while they play with his tail.. 🙂 Both Mr.Jingles and Precious love to let us know first thing in the morning (4am) that its time to get up but playing with our feet or purring and rubbing against our faces. I’ve attached a few pictures that I took with my cell phone of them in their new home.

Sincerely,
Proud Parent, Tiffany!

Brutis’ New Happy Home

Our favorite kitten, Brutis, was finally adopted last week. We received this  email from Julie, his new Mom, this morning!

Hi,

I thought you might like to see how little Brutis is doing (we actually have renamed him Nanook, which means polar bear in Eskimo.  It seemed fitting as we got him on the day it first snowed and because he is so completely different from a polar bear :-).

He seems fitting right on Halloween!

He is being a sweetheart and sleeping with us every night.  Pinky, my cat, is getting to accept him and they have been chasing each other around the apartment. She is still not completely adjusted, but I think she will over time.

I was worried he might not be cuddliest, but as he is getting to know us, he has become more and more loving and is always purring.

Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know how he was doing and share a couple of pictures.

Thanks for everything!

Cheers,

Julie

MIS & AniMeals Art Show

The art show at Bernice’s Bakery last Friday was a huge success! It was a great turnout and most of the paintings were bought on the spot. Be sure to stop by Bernice’s this month to see all the awesome art work. Thank you to everyone who made this project a success. An extra special thanks goes out to Feather and all her students who made this fundraiser possible!

Another Happy Ending!

Check out this happy story from William and Evelyn B. and their son Mikaia. They found the perfect cat at our shelter named “Boo” who is now “Mr. Fluff”!

Like any pet adoption, this one came with a lot of planning, preparation and thinking through.  As our son’s first pet (and he had asked for a cat!) we wanted to make sure that we didn’t just find any cat, but that we found a cat that had a particular personality and ‘humor’ that fit our family.  With our son being young, we also wanted a young kitten that he could grow with – and vice versa.

We visited AniMeals a few times to look around, and were immediately impressed by the staff and how extremely personal they were with us, and how much they understood exactly where we were coming from and how much getting this kitten meant to us.

Our son immediately connected with a small grey kitten that he very quickly dubbed ‘Fluff’, and it seemed to instantly fit.  Upon getting Fluff home and introducing him to his new surroundings, he acted like he had been here all his life and settled instantly.  It was US however, that had to do a bit of adjusting, as we quickly realized that with the arrival of our new kitten our home needed to once more revert back to ‘toddler’ mode, and the house had to once again be made toddler proof!!  Anything of value had to be moved a few feet higher, and it was the constant balance between playtime & naptime – sometimes only a few seconds apart!

But Mr Fluff is very much part of our family.  He’s part of the early morning sit-down coffee routine, part of the get-ready-for school routine and the arrival-home-from-school routine, and very much part of the late evening relax-and-wind-down routine.  He is extremely playful and energetic, and extremely cuddly and affectionate – completely interactive all round.  He’s the perfect companion and addition to our family.

Thank you SO much to the AniMeals staff, who even now continue to be so helpful and understanding, and who we now consider to be friends of our family.

We highly recommend them!!

Thank YOU Eveyln, William and Mikaia! You guys are the perfect adoptive family!

Lucky’s New Home

Today we received an awesome e-mail from Lucky who was adopted at the Adopt-a-thon at PetSmart this weekend. Here’s what Lucky had to say about his new home:

To all the people at animeals,

Arriving at my new home this past weekend I was a little nervous and shy. But my new parents are very patient, and waited all day for me to come out of the bedroom to visit them, and explore my new home.  Since I have gotten to know my new parents I love them very much and enjoy laying between them on every occasion; and they have also given me a new name, Noah.  My dad has made me many fun toys, and I get more lovin’ and pets than I can handle.  Sometimes I get very sleepy from all the fun I am having, and doze off on my favorite couch (I have attached a picture).  I hope everyone at Animeals is doing well and that all the other animals will soon be as lucky as I have been.

We’re so happy for you, Noah! Congrats on your forever home.

Riley Goes Home!

Riley Goes Home!

Our favorite furry boy went to his forever home today and he couldn’t be happier! Annette and Mike M. decided that they just couldn’t live without him and left AniMeals with one jolly pup and an arm load of squeeky toys. Riley will have lots of room to run, too many toys to count, and a family who loves him. What more can a puppy ask for? (Maybe to be done with this plastic cone left over from his neuter!)
